In our company's surface roughness measuring device, the step standard SS-G41 has a glass surface with a plating of about 10 μm. However, when using optical systems in non-contact measuring devices, the bottom surface of the step becomes transparent, making stable evaluation impossible.

In the step standard SS-G41C, the bottom surface is also plated, making it usable even with non-contact measuring devices.
